A message from Kalyn~
Jesus said to her, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again. But whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a fount of water springing up to eternal life.” The woman said to Him, “Sir, give me this water!”
Listening to other women’s stories is one of my favorite things to do. None of our stories are exactly the same, but there’s always a constant thread- God’s great Love. Our stories tell of His faithful, relentless, and redeeming Love. At THRiVE in session one, we looked at one woman’s story in the book of John-the Woman at the Well. From her story, we see how God’s Love breaks through to us anywhere, anytime, and in any way. God’s Love for you is extraordinary!
- The location of the woman’s conversation with Jesus was extraordinary.
God’s Love breaks through anywhere. His Love for us has no boundaries, no matter the situation.
Whatever your location- His Love will get to you.
What situation are you in right now? Do you believe that His Love can breakthrough?
- The time of the woman’s conversation with Jesus was extraordinary.
God’s Love breaks through any time. Jesus made time for her on His journey at a shameful and lonely time in her life.
Jesus always has time for us. Take some time and talk with him today.
What questions might he be asking you? He asked her to serve him a drink. What ways might He be asking you to serve him?
- The characters in this conversation were extraordinary.
God’s Love breaks through to us in any way.
The Samaritan woman’s life was messy. Jesus isn’t afraid to break into our messy lives.
Jesus already knows we don’t have to have it all together anyway. We have been hurt and rejected too. We can give our messiness to Jesus, and He will hold us together in His mighty, unending Love.
What mess do you think Jesus can’t come into and pour out His Love?
God’s Love gives unmeasurable worth to everyone.
God’s Love makes anyone willing into His temple.
God’s Love can use anyone’s life, as a megaphone to tell His story.
The woman at the well stood under labels of lack and law, but with Jesus, she stands in Love, and so do we. He knows the hurts that no one else knows. He knows the days and moments of weakness and fear. God’s lavish Love can break through to your past, your present, and is already into your future. She came to draw water, but Jesus knew she needed Love- Living Love. God knows your needs.
What is he saying to you through the Samaritan’s woman’s story?
How does he want to make you into His megaphone of Love?
What happens when we stand in His Love? Our fear doesn’t stand a chance– listen to our 2020 theme song- Stand In Your Love . As we encounter His unending grace and his wooing, our hearts stand in deeper waters of His Love.
Just as Paul told Timothy in his second letter, 2 Timothy 4:17, God is always standing with you giving you strength saying– ___________ (insert your name), I love you, so let my Love in you stand up and stand out.
How will we respond to His Love?
Sir, give me this LOVE!John 4:15
THRiVING with you,
The secret is this… Christ in you the hope of glory. Col. 1:27
